Data Privacy Statement
At Lindemanns Buchhandlung, it is very important for us to protect our customers' privacy. This is why we never ask you to submit more data than the data we need to be able to process your request.
Lindemanns Buchhandlung uses, processes and saves customer data only to process customers' requests or when needed to comply with regulatory requirements (such as compulsory record retention as per HGB):
In no case does Lindemanns Buchhandlung pass over, sell or rent out any data to third parties.
For purchases on account, Lindemanns Buchhandlung does not access any data around the customer's payment history from third party information providers.
The transmission of personal data to regulatory / state bodies, is done only in case of compulsory national regulations.
In order to process customer orders being paid for through credit card, Paypal or Sofortüberweisung, address data will be submitted to the respective service provider. These are:
- Concardis GmbH, Helfmann-Park 7, 65760 Eschborn
- PayPal (Europe) S.a.r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg
- SOFORT GmbH, Fußbergstraße 1, 82131 Gauting.
When using Paypal, customer data will be saved and processed in the USA following local privacy protection laws. European and German laws (e.g. following the Bundesdatenschutzgesetz zum Schutz persönlicher Daten) are not in effect there.
The following customer data is saved by Lindemanns Buchhandlung to process orders:
- Name and address
- Shipping address
- E-mail address
- Phone (if provided)
- Selected payment method
- Ordered items
- Bank details (only when paying through direct debit)
No other data is asked for or saved.
The server for www.lindemanns.de is located in Germany and is thus subject to German laws. The data traffic is safe and encrypted.
On demand, Lindemanns Buchhandlung will inform any requestor at any time, if there is any stored personal information with regards to the requestor and if so, which (§ 34 BDSG).
Customers can also view and change their data through the menu "Personal settings". Of course our customers can at any time request a correction, if their data is incorrect or incomplete and they do not wish to change the data themselves.
If it becomes evident that the original reason for data processing is no longer valid and this was missed during regular periodic checks, data will be deleted - always adhering to legal record retention periods.
All customers have the right to withdraw at any time their approval to the processing of personal data for the future and to request the deletion of their data (in compliance with legal requirements
(§ 35 BDSG). These rights can be excercised via e-mail to
